In this first Sunday in Advent we are impatient with the season. We desire to have Christmas now. We desire to have a victorious king on a donkey now. We desire to have our future glory now. Yet Christ comes to us, not as we expect, but he comes to us as we need him. He comes not in glory and power, but in weakness in humility. He doesn’t come on our watch, but at the fullness of time. So we wait on the Lord in patient faith and love for our king who is surely coming.
Scripture: Matthew 21:1-11
